Problems In July 2004

Now that I use Daisy every day to go to and from work (20 miles a day), a few wee things have cropped up. The main one being, that I now have a very noisy tappet. The loud ticking noise started to appear a few days ago.

The problem is, that the tappets are in an awkward place on a side value car. In order to get to them, I will have to remove the exhaust manifold. I am not even sure if I can actually then see enough of them to adjust. But, never mind, I will try, so stay tuned...

Another other wee thing, was the radiator, it just decided to trickle water. No such a big deal, and "Rad Weld" (Halfords - £4.00) sorted that one out.

I looks like the wind screen is also leaking at either end, thanks to the down pour last week on the way to work. Gale force winds, severe rain, a leaking windscreen AND vacuum wipers........... I was having a lovely time that day!!  ;-)

Its just a drip, but wet and annoying all the same. Silicon sealant (the stuff you use to bond and fix fish tanks) was ideal for this. Its clear, and waterproof, and bonds to the existing rubber and class making a water tight seal. I got it from my local aquarium, and it costs around £5.00 . It does take 48 hours to work, so, at time of press, I am unsure that it is working as I only did it yesterday!!
