Engine Replacement

August 2006

Well, I can not believe how fast this year is going!! - I have recently changed my job, and for the short term, I am working away from home, which means I have almost no time to spend on Daisy. However, I have stripped all the auxiliaries from the old engine in preparation for the replacement. Unfortunately the engine I bought a wee while ago, is a no go. It seemed in a worse state than Daisy's original !! I did have some fun with the starter motor, which, after skinning my knuckles for a 3rd time, had to be 'gentle persuaded' with a hammer and WD40 :)

I have also managed to track down help for the engine replacement. I don't actually own an engine crane, and I didn't want to hire one for this single job, so I sought help. John will help me lift Daisys old engine out, now that all the auxiliaries are off its just a case of getting the new engine. I have seen a few on eBay, and although they claim to be 'fully rebuilt', they seem reluctant to tell me WHAT exactly has been rebuilt/refurbished. I think I shall have to bite the bullet and invest in a club fully rebuilt engine.
