I was determined to do a bit more work on Daisy this month. So I have started on the hose replacement.... Just to easy myself in.

I found a local motor factors, and bought a length of rad hose, which I cut in to two lengths, this is to replace the very porous original hoses. The purple arrows show the new hoses in place. Also, something I forgot at the time, I needed new jubilee clips (hose clips) to hold the new hoses in place, the original ones were almost completely rusted through. I had to break two of them, just to get them off !!! - Anyway, the red arrows show the new clips.

Once the hoses (all except the big rad hose) were in place, the new rotor arm and distributor cap was installed.

Both of these I purchased from Lucas. That reminds me, the costs that are on the August page, now needs updating. I have had to purchase additional 'things'. I shall detail them later, and update the costs.

Now, the BIG rad hose, this thing ...

I could not get a replacement anyware!!  Not even small ford spares (www.smallfordspares.co.uk). What I did manage to get was this ...

This is a metal version, of the bottom part of the hose above. I had to wait a wee while before I got this, but, what this means is, I can now use a standard non tapered hose. So off to halfords I went.

A standard 'flex rad hose' - I needed a 4cm diameter, and roughly 25cm long. This will do the trick, a wee bit too long, but hey... it bends !!! - So two jubilee clips later ... and ......

My very own, home made 1957 Anglia 100E main Radiator Hose. Though I should point out, it was a bitch to get it over the metal end !

Now, all I have to do, is get that broken bolt out. I will need yet another bolt extractor, this will be number 4 !!

It refuses to come out. It looks like I might just have to drill it out. Damn.

So, what's the new bits in the engine so far ..

Well thats it so far for this month, but there is still another 2 weeks of oct left yet. Lets see if I can get off my arse and get the suspension fixed....!!
