So, blokey has been around to see Daisy, and (for a mechanic) was not too dismissive of my work so far. In fact, he seemed rather impressed as to how far I have gotten. Any way, he has agreed to take on the welding work, and he will be picking up daisy on Friday or Monday, depending on when he can get the tow lorry (remember she is off the road at the moment). I have also cheated a wee bit, as David (the mechanic) would need to disassemble the suspension system, I have asked him to fit my new struts. I was going to do it, but as he will have daisy for a good few days..........
If you remember, I bought these a wee while ago from www.smallfordspares.com , and although Daisy does not NEED them, the current ones have seen better days............ so, time to change. These struts have been the most expensive single item for Daisy so far. Mind you, I haven't found out how much the welding will cost yet !!
Anyway, I can still do the 'wee' things. So, I managed to pick up a pair of wing mirrors from ebay for a tenner. Not bad, only they are square, and the one mirror that daisy has at the moment, is round.

I quite like the round one, but, for 10 quid for the pair, I could not resist. They are a wee bit pitted, but are clean and tidy.
I am hoping to put Daisy through an MOT by the end of May, which does show you how much work has actually been done so far, however, our second baby is due end of May, and I shall be in Bonnie Scotland until the birth, so Daisy may have to take a back seat for a couple of weeks..... sorry Daisy.
